I started this piece last summer and it has been such a fun work in progress throughout the changing of the seasons, here in Calgary. I do the background layers outside on a warm and calm day…. I collected fresh and dried botanicals and leaves to create monoprints of the hand painted layers under the paint…. I love the variety in textures and marks and feel like the art is an invitation into my creative world and desire to paint abstract forms of nature with only a hint of realistic florals…
