Sometimes I paint to escape the darkness and heaviness of the world. I start with darker colours and paint light and colours that I love , moving away from the darkness. I love contrast in my work. It’s important to embrace the dark both in life and art. I want people to feel less alone and isolated during dark times… this title came easily and the painting makes me feel hopeful and highlights the power of both darkness and light.
